Civil Engineering ：

Civil Engineering is a subject composed of teaching and research sections of Civil Engineering, Projects Management and Engineering Mechanics, Center of Earthquake Engineering and Experiment Center . Being one pillar subject in Hebei Polytechnic University , the civil engineering was set in 1984, known as the Department of Architecture. It was later awarded the Gift of science and engineering in 1998. Since the beginning of it, this subject has a total number of students of 1700, including 57 graduate students. Now there are 451 undergraduates and 49 graduate students.

The general situation of this subject is as follows:

• 3 specialties for Master degree: Disaster reduction and protection project, Structure Engineering, Engineering Mechanics.
• 2 Specialties for Bachelor degree: Civil Engineering, Project Management

• Key specialty in Hebei Province : Disaster reduction and protection project

Main laboratories and experiment bases: Mechanics of Materials lab, Soil Mechanics lab, Building Materials Lab, Structure Lab and experiment bases for Civil Engineering and Project Engineering.

Municipal Engineering

This subject is made up of teaching and research group of Water Feeding and Draining Engineering and Architectural Environment and Equipment Engineering. It begins with bachelor teaching in 1993 and received master degree gift in 2003. During more than 10 years, this subject has a total number of students of 486, including 8 graduate students. Now in this subject there are 1 professor, 7 assistant professors, 5 postgraduate tutors, 5 national registered equipment engineers, 1 national registered superintendent equipment engineer and 2 teachers with PhD.

Two specialties for Master degree:

• Water Feeding and Draining Engineering
• Architectural Environment and Equipment Engineering.

Architecture :

Architecture is composed of architecture teaching and research group, engineering drafting teaching and research group, and architecture designing academe. Now there are 167 undergraduates and 2 graduate students. It has a seasoned faculty of 1 professor, 5 assistant professors, 1 postgraduate tutor, and 5 national registered architects. By our continuous efforts, this subject has won a third-class prize in national construction designing, a second-class prize and three third-class prizes in provincial construction designing. At present, there is one bachelor specialty-architecture.
