AJ Gunson, instructor & MEMEI Director from NBK Institute of MIning Engineering, UBC will visit HPU on April 4 and 5.
AJ brings with him a program for students from HPU. Students who have a good backgound of mining engineering study will have the chance to apply for studying at UBC. Four successful applicants will be offered conditional May 2009 internships by a Canadian engineering company, Wardrop Engineering. The internship lasts for 9 months with $ 3000/ month, for a total of $24000. the students would join the program study for 9 months at UBC, and then work at Wardrop, in Vancouver, Saskatoon, Sudbury or Toronto. Following the work term, the student would complete an additional 4 months of study at UBC, before graduating with a Mater of Engineering. There are possibilities that students will continue working with Wardrop, either in Canada or in their Beijing Office. |
