In 1985, the Ministry of Education approved our university of recruiting graduates in the subject of Mining Engineer¡ê?Ferrous Metallurgy¡ê?Chemistry Analysis of Metallurgy. Since 1993 we have had authority to award Master Degree with the approval of the Degree Committee of the State Council,since 1999 we have been authorized to promulgate Master Degree to the graduate have the same educational level. Since 2002 we have had graduates who are the Major of Project.
Through unremitting efforts¡ê?the graduate education has been carried off more than ten years in our school and has got much effort. So far the number of Master Degree is up to 18¡ê?including Materials Processing Engineering, Physical Chemistry of Metallurgy¡ê?Ferrous Metallurgy, Non-ferrous Metallurgy. Geological Engineering Mining Engineering, Safety Technology and Engineering, Materialogy,Structural Engineering¡ê?Municipal Engineering¡ê?Disaster Prevention and Reduction Engineering and Protective Engineering, Industrial Economics, Mechanical Manufacture and Automation, Mechanical Design and Theory¡ê?Chemical Technology¡ê?Control Theory and Control Engineering¡ê?Linguistics and Applied Linguistics in Foreign Languages. There are four Project Engineering Master Degrees which we have authority to award,respectively including Metallurgy Engineering¡ê?Mining Engineering¡ê?Materials Engineering and Building and Civil Engineering, Ferrous Metallurgy and Disaster Prevention and Reduction Engineering and Protective Engineering are known as the major subjects in Hebei Province?¨º?and the center of Earthquake Project, Materialogy and Laboratory of Ferrous Metallurgy's Experiment Office are awarded as focal point experiment in Hebei Province.
At present, there are 165 tutors for graduates. And it has formed a team with higher academic level and reasonable structure. So it has guaranteed quality of graduate education. We always pay more attention to the basic education and the cultivation of quality-oriented and innovative ability in graduate education. At the same time, we have implemented the kind of management with school, the College and the Discipline combining. Thus we ensure the quality of education. In a batch of great achievements we had made, more than three quarters have been got with the help of the graduate. According to the follow-up investigation, the rate of satisfaction that the employing units hold the attitudes toward the graduates who graduated from our university is up to 97.6%. The rate of Graduating graduates who have been admitted to receive doctoral education has been up to 60% in the past two years, respectively recruited by Tsing-Hua University, Tongji University, Shanhai Communications University, Nanjing University, The University of Tanjin, Beijing University of Science; Technology, Northeastern University, The Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. Such famous university or research institutions enrolled for the doctoral candidate.
Graduate College was known as the Department of Graduate, and it has existed since 1997. There are five sub-branches office below the College, including Enrolling and Employment Office, the Office of Training and Management, the Degree Office, and the Office for Students' Working, which are responsible for all the works both degree and graduate education.
