There are three departments in the college:

• Social Science Department
• Literature & Art Department
• Sociology Department and Law Department

Social Science Department and Literature & Art Department are in charge of the teaching task of the public courses for the whole university such as:

• Marxism
• Art Theory
• College Chinese

Compared with the refulgent history and solid foundation of other specialties, law specialty and social work specialty are juniors. But the offering of these two specialties fills up the blank of the discipline construction and widens the domain of the university.

Law specialty brings up the senior specialized talents with systematic juristic knowledge, who are familiar with the laws of the country and correlative policies of our Party, and can engage in legal work in government offices, enterprises, institutions, and public organizations, especially in legislature, judicial organs, arbitral authorities, and law service.

The specialty of social work brings up senior specialized personnel who grasp the basic knowledge of social work with skills of social investigations and ability of social work. They can engage in the work such as social security, the research of social polity, social administration, social development and management, community service, assessing and operating and so on in civil administration, trade union, the organizations for the youth and the women, and other organizations of social welfare, servicing and public service groups.

There are 4 professors and 12 associate professors in this college and most of the young teachers have obtained their master's degree. Some of the teachers' paper always can be seen at the core periodicals, and many teachers got the outstanding teacher's title at provincial, municipal and university levels.

College of Humanities and Law is founded for the social development, and will setup new specialties while perfecting the already-existing ones with the social development. We believe that with our great efforts we can make the College of Humanities and Law a college with powerful teaching body, rational discipline structure, and better academic atmosphere. We are determined to build our existing specialties with great influence in Hebei Province , competitiveness with other counterpart in the same field, and contribute to the development of our university.
